Following it’s foundation in May 2023, the EggChaser 7s is rated as the most attended Adult & Junior rugby sevens event in the UK. We’re delighted to share a few developments and additions to the EggChaser 7s ahead of 2025.
We initially started the tournament as a Men’s and Women’s elite only competition with 20 teams in attendance – it has quickly grown to accommodate well over 120 teams in 2024 with over 2,000 participants.
The tournament for 2025, will be known as the EggChaser International 7s forming a collection of elite 7s tournaments run by EggChaser including the EggChaser 7s North, and the South Coast 7s.
This season will see the flagship event remaining in Surrey, but relocating to Molesey Road – home to the county’s highest level rugby union side (Esher RFC).
The move will see us have access to a better standard of main pitch, with the grandstand at the club amongst other amenities offering a more professional environment for the athletes and teams.
With the growing nature of the event, we will now have access to further pitches to support our growth.
This move is just the start of an exciting partnership between Esher and EggChaser, with the club also set to host the South East Schools 7s taking place in February – alongside an International 7s masterclass.
