We’re thrilled to announce Ellie Jones will be joining Team EggChaser as Head Of Medical from the 1st April.
Ellie is currently Head Of Medical at North Wales Crusaders, currently the only 100% side remaining in RFL League 1 having been bought by EggChaser in December.
When asked on her thoughts upon joining the team Ellie added this “I'm excited to join the dynamic world of Rugby 7's elite sport with Eggchaser, where I'll be contributing my skills, experience and passion for rugby on the global stage. I will continue my rugby league roots with North Wales Crusaders in my second full season at the club. It is a fantastic opportunity and I cant wait to see what lies ahead.”
With the addition of Ellie, this also means Beth Jefferies will be departing us in April. Beth started her journey with us back in October 2021, as the Medical Lead for the first ever Lion Rugby 7s tournament – the Dubai 7s. The following seasons she has held a role of Head Of Medical, before joining full-time in March 2024 as Head Of Participation, before being promoted to the role of COO and Head Of Medical.
Beth added her thoughts – “A huge thank you to EggChaser for an incredible four years! During my time with the team, I’ve had the opportunity to grow, learn, and travel the world—experiencing every moment to the fullest. It’s been amazing to work with so many incredible athletes and academy teams over the past 4 years.
A special thank you to Arun and the entire EggChaser team for giving me amazing opportunities from even before I graduated back in 2021.
Im really excited to be passing on the role to Ellie who is going to be an incredible member of the EggChaser Family! Catch Ellie all around the world this summer with the teams!
Thanks again team! I’m sure our paths will cross again soon!”
Bobby Watkins – Chairman of North Wales Crusaders and Non-Executive Director of EggChaser said
“ We are massive fans of Beth, but sometimes you have to accept that it's crucial to support the dreams of your team and help them to the next stage of their journey. We are incredibly lucky to have Ellie already on board supporting the Crusaders, she has demonstrated a player first approach that will enable Ellie to offer a broad medical support across the EggChaser teams and academy. We all wish both Beth and Ellie the best for their exciting career steps.”
Arun Watkins – Founder of EggChaser and Owner/CEO of North Wales Crusaders added “Look, first and foremost – Beth has been a massive part of our start. She was with us in the parks, and she was with us in front of 40,000. She now enters a very exciting chapter of her life, and I cannot be more excited for her. She has always looked after players to the best of her care, and she is a total professional. We wish her the best of luck with her next steps. Ellie’s professionalism and dedication to sport, is something to be admired, it is very hard to recruit good people and I am delighted she will be joining us as Head Of Medical moving forward, it’s a very exciting time across the EggChaser family with a number of new additions.”
