Following yet another podium finish for the Lionesses, we're thrilled to announce that North East Academy star - Issy Drury has committed her future to the EggChaser Family, by becoming our first ever female player to be offered a development contract.
This comes off the back of South East playmaker, Ellis Beynon committing his future to the Lions and EggChaser family last weekend. Drury (18), burst onto the scene with a debut alongside an international packed Lionesses squad at the Melrose 7s broadcast on the BBC.
On her contract Issy had this to say "I’ve loved every match I’ve played for Lionesses and Eggchasers so far and am so excited that this will give me more opportunities I’ll enjoy."
By signing this agreement, Issy now moves formally into our Senior Academy Group alongside Beynon. With further members to be announced in the coming weeks.
On Issy making the move into our Development Squad, Benjamin her father and coach had this to say "We are really pleased for Issy, who has put in so much hard work with season. She has loved playing sevens with the Lionesses and we can't think of a better organisation for her to continue her journey with. Thank you."
Issy started her journey via an recommendation via one of our Academy Scouts, since then she has represented the Academy, Development and Elite Squads in a number of tournaments. As a Scottish Qualified player, she will represent the Thistles at the Hawks 7s on Saturday 20th July.
