In December 2020, Arun Watkins found he had too much rugby kit and needed a way to shift it...
He started listing on eBay and soon found some success. In July 2022, whilst still at university he took the decision to take the business full-time and from the purely online to the retail market. Establishing what is England's only dedicated rugby store. By October of that year, the teamwear part of the business begun with a tour kit made for Old Reigatian RFC and by April they had become the official kit supplier to Reigate Rugby Club.
April, also saw the launch of EggChaser Sevens, firstly as a coaching brand hosting camps and skills clinics at a small number of rugby clubs in the south east. April saw EggChaser hire it's first full-time member of staff with Josh Kaad a school & ex-Wasps teammate of Arun's coming on board.
May, saw the first ever EggChaser Sevens tournament with 9,000 people tuning in from across 54 countries.
September, saw the launch of the EggChaser Sevens Academy - the UKs only direct route to professional sevens. Currently with over 2000 players within the programme, aspiring young players can earn the opportunity of a professional contract with the Lions or Lionesses when they leave school.
At present the company currently has a small but hard-working full-time team, aswell as a range of brands with the following currently owned and operated by EggChaser.
