Following a tremendous string of performances for the Lions senior squad, we’re thrilled to announce Ellis Beynon has become the first ever member of the EggChaser 7s Academy to be offered a Development Contract.
He becomes our first ever graduate to move from the Junior Academy into the Senior Academy, with the club and EggChaser family committed to supporting him on his rugby and personal development for the long-term.
Ellis, who started his journey with the Academy at an Eggchaser Masterclass hosted at East Grinstead had this to say, “I’m thrilled to have committed my long-term future to the Lions and the EggChaser family, getting the opportunity to initially be part of the Academy and to now be a contracted sevens player is something I’ve really aspired to doing since I heard of the programme. I’m ready to showcase my skills across the coming weeks, and look repay the faith that Arun and the coaches at EggChaser have shown in me.
Arun Watkins the Founder & CEO of EggChaser said,“Ellis, is a super sharp player. I was lucky enough to coach him down at East Grinstead when we held a masterclass there. He’s worked hard taking up every opportunity available to him across the U23, Development and now Senior Groups. I’m delighted that we will be able to support his development going forward. The Development Contract is an important progression in the journey of the Academy, and this opportunity which we have given to Ellis is something I really want to see as an inspiration for our younger players coming through the pathway”
Our Academy currently operates across England, with programmes starting in Wales and Scotland soon. To find out more about potential opportunities for your son or daughter within our pathway, please email us at events@eggchasersevens.com
